Tate Drawings

3 Panel Story Project

During this rotation, I enjoyed learning about the importance of composition in a story. I also like how I was pushed out my comfort zone by completing multiple observational drawings of both people and objects as I feel if I improve my observational drawings skills, I could transfer the skills when animating exaggerated characters. However, I defiantly need to work on this in the future as the illustrations I completed when at the Tate could be improved upon to be more realistic.
When generating the outcome for this project I wanted to design my piece as if it were a comic book since I thought the aesthetic would suit the theme of using 3 panels. I was inspired by someone I saw at the Tate who was looking over a railing as they reminded me of a generic superhero looking down on the city. I am happy with my outcome for this project as I feel the style of the first 2 panels juxtaposes nicely with the humour of the narrative. Although, if I were to redo my narrative, I would try and avoid using dialogue to push myself to tell my story through images alone.
